Wavetrac 10.309.191WK Differentials help put the power to the ground, where it's needed. A standard differential design will typically transmit 100% of the torque through to just one wheel, only utilizing half of the tire traction available for acceleration. This amount of traction can easily be overwhelmed by the available power in modern cars. There are a few different designs of differentials available, however, the Wavetrac differential is the only one which will send power to the opposite wheel if one side experiences no grip due to the wheel lifting (as in aggressive cornering) or during zero load conditions (such as ice or similar low traction surfaces). A Wavetrac differential responds to these circumstances and transmits power to the wheel which has traction.
Advantages of Wavetrac over other differential upgrades:
Wavetrac® design automatically improves grip in low traction conditions unlike other torque biasing diffs.
9310 steel gears run in case-hardened billet or forged steel bodies. ARP® fasteners used throughout.
Wavetrac® differentials will perform a lifetime of service without maintenance or rebuilds.
If desired, you can alter the diffs behavior to suit your needs using optional components.
All Wavetrac® differentials include a transferable, Limited Lifetime Warranty.
Wavetrac Differential Manufacturing: Wavetrac® differentials are built in American plants operating to ISO9002 and TS16949 standards. Each Wavetrac® Differential is crafted from the highest quality materials available, the diff bodies are machined from case-hardened steel billet and the internal gears are made from high strength 9310 alloy steel. High quality, high strength fasteners from ARP® are used exclusively. Quality control checks are at every step through the manufacturing process.
Wavetrac LSD Install: Installation of the differential is best left to certified technicians. Removal and disassembly of the transmission is required, a process which takes about 12 hours. New fluid will also be needed, Motul Gear 300 75W90 or Motul Gear Competition 75W140 is the recommended fluid type (Do NOT use RedLine, Shockproof® or similar gear oils or oils with limited slip additives).
