Hartmann Lug Bolts are made in Italy to the highest standards and meet QS-9000 quality certification standards as well as ISO/TS 16949 and ISO 9001 TUV certification.
Audi and VW vehicles using a 5x112 or 5x100 bolt pattern use a 14mm diameter bolt with a 1.5 thread pitch.
OEM Audi and VW wheels with the exception of the Audi Q-Series, SQ-Series, and VW Touareg use an R13 ball seat bolt with a 27mm shaft length.
OEM Audi Q-Series and SQ-Series and VW Touareg wheels use an R14 ball seat bolt.
Aftermarket wheels may require an R12, R13, or R14 ball seat or a cone seat type bolt depending on the manufacturing of the wheel with length varying by manufacturer as well.
Some aftermarket wheels with a cone seat design require a specialty cone seat bolt with a small diameter tapered head called a "Tuner Bolt".
Hartmann Lug Bolt Specifications:
- Shaft Diameter: 14mm
- Bolt Head: 17mm Hex
- Thread Pitch: 1.50
- Seat Type: R13 (13mm Radius) Ball
Hartmann Lug Bolt Manufacturing:
Hartmann bolts are constructed from high grade steel and feature nickel or black zinc plating for corrosion resistance.
Determining Lug Bolt Length for Spacers:
Remove one lug bolt and measure the length from the end of the threads to the bottom of the seat, add the spacer thickness to the stock bolt length, this number is your new optimal bolt length. (Stock length + spacer thickness = new bolt length)
Hartmann Lug Bolt Install:
- Confirm the lugs are the proper length by threading a single bolt in by hand and counting the rotations until seated, you should get 7 rotations.
- Once seated rotate the wheel slowly to ensure the lug is not contacting any components on the inside of the hub.
- Install wheels in the air, using the brakes to stop the wheel from turning and torque the lugs to the vehicle manufacturers specified value first in a star pattern, followed by a circle.
- Re-torque the lugs after 1 week on brand new wheels.
