Any of our VW Golf R owners interested in a BBK? We have an opportunity to present someone who lives in the SoCal area an incredible price on a StopTech BBK, 355mm and ST40 (4-piston) specifically. More details are available when we hear directly from one of you but let’s get a few pre-qualifiers out there first:

1) Must live in SoCal, preferably as close to StopTech as possible
2) Must be flexible enough to be able to leave your car with them for a day to allow them to take initial measurements.
3) Must be available for a possible second visit for part fitting and testing
4) Your Golf R must be equipped with stock suspension and wheels that clear a BBK. (we will provide the template so you can check for clearance)

We’ve got the Achtuning Golf R on the rack today, and we’re getting further fitment tests done with StopTech product – an advantage of being a STOCKING distributor for the popular and proven brand.  It’s too early for us to go into detail about what’s going on but you’ll notice StopTech’s Trophy calipers and a 3″ down-pipe we’re looking at for our next Golf R installment.  Stay tuned!

The ACHTUNING VW Golf R is suited up and ready for this weekend’s test n’ tune session. Equipped with StopTech’s “Sport” brake upgrade (slotted rotors/street performance pads/stainless-steel lines) and Hartmann Euromesh 4 wheels that are wrapped in Falken RT615s, we anticipate quite the performance from our all-wheel-driven, K04 equipped Golf, especially now that we’ve got the ECU tune and high pressure fuel pump from APR to back it up as well!!

The Hartmann Euromesh 4 wheels are 18×8 with a 45mm offset, and sit perfectly within the arches both front and back, offering plenty of room for the meaty RT615s.

Scott met Andrew and Leo here at the shop while the two were here to receive StopTech’s brake-line upgrade and fluid flush prior to the weekend’s QuattroFest event. Not uncommon at all to have a line-up of B8 S4s here and it’s always a pleasure to see! We hear the guys are coming back eventually for a StopTech BBK and APR ECU upgrade in the future, since it was apparent how much of a difference those upgrades made on Scott’s car while tackling Portland International Raceway. We will be here when they are ready.

StopTech’s 328x28mm, 4-piston big brake kit wraps up the laundry list of parts Tim has asked us to install on his brand-new VW (Mk6) GTI. This all after an APR K04 turbo upgrade, turbo-back exhaust, intercooler, H&R Sport Springs, and 19″ Hartmann HRS4-252 Wheels ended up on the car. Now Tim just needs to get himself home safe and sound after serving in our Armed Forces so he can enjoy the fruits of his labor!

StopTech announced the release of a Big Brake Kit for the VW (Mk5) R32! 355x32mm slotted or drilled floating directional AeroRotors feature billet aluminum mounting brackets with stainless steel hubs, DOT-compliant stainless steel braided Teflon brake lines, StopTech’s highly-praised high performance street pads plus the company’s patented, forged, high performance, four-piston ST-40 calipers.

As the winner of the free StopTech Sport Brake Upgrade from the 2011 Port Townsend Cruise Raffle, Neal was excited to bring us his Audi (B8) S4 today for a brake upgrade. And since he actually had “bigger” plans in mind for the S4, we worked out a deal with Neal and got him into StopTech’s ST-60, 355mm Big Brake Kit instead!

A significant weight savings is noticed right off the bat, with almost 10 lbs. shaved off each corner when upgrading with StopTech’s BBK. The factory rotors alone weigh 5 lbs. more than the StopTech rotors!

Side-by-side, not only is the size difference obvious, but the aesthetic upgrade with the StopTech caliper is immediately noticed… These calipers are HOT!!

Larger rotors on the BBK increase heat capacity, better brake cooling dissipates absorbed heat, and stiffer calipers and stainless-steel lines improve response and modulation to offer the Audi S4 the best in over all balanced braking performance! We are more than confident Neal will be absolutely impressed and immensely satisfied with his brake upgrade.
