Posted on December 9, 2009 – 11:33 am

Jon continues to accumulate parts for his “RS4-Conversion” project. With a huge exterior transformation and interior upgrade behind him, the B6 S4’s power train will now get some much-deserved attention!

Details about the build will be shared once we begin work in the next couple of weeks. Meanwhile, we’ll continue drooling over these parts…

New running gear

Posted on July 9, 2009 – 2:27 pm

Daniel’s Audi (B6) A4 was in need of some new running gear so it was left with us to receive one of the last sets of Hartmann HRS4-DTM Wheels in 19×8, et35. Daniel also knew that throwing 19s wouldn’t be enough to correct the over-all stance and appearance on the car and felt a coilover kit would be the best option for him.

The “Achtuning Signature Ride Height” puts the car just above the top of the tire, and when the suspension settles it should be about the perfect set-up.

With all this “winter-prep” going on around us…

Posted on October 22, 2008 – 3:52 pm

… I felt I wanted one last run of summer styling before the incoming cold weather meant it would be best to run an all-season wheel and tire. I took the “winter set-up” BBS RCs off the Golf and mounted these Porsche design wheels.

As with most of the Porsche-specific styles offered, these are staggered, running 18×8 up front and 18×10 in the rear. Just like our Mk4 Jetta project, H&R DRA Adapters were used to mount the 5×130 Porsche bolt pattern to the 5×100 Volkswagen hub. The Jetta ran 30mm adapters both front and rear but since the front fenders on this Golf are not yet rolled to accommodate a wider stance, I felt it safer to run a set of 20mm adapters I had laying around.

Since the car is lowered with KONI Coil-Overs, and a 10″ wheel isn’t the customary width to run on the back of a VW Mk4, smaller tires were mounted to ensure fender clearance resulting in a “stretched” look. Now this small of a tire is really pushing the limits and is not recommended for most, but with proper installation and tire pressure monitoring, there will not be any issues whatsoever running this set-up.

Audi B7 S4 in for some nice upgrades

Posted on June 6, 2008 – 3:20 pm

Power, Sound, Style, these are all qualities that the B7 S4 promises from the factory but for enthusiasts stock is never quite good enough. To this end the owner of this B7 S4 came to us to improve upon those qualities, having seen the results of some of the other S4s we have modified here it was decided to go for the Ohlins SL coilovers accompanied by a Neuspeed rear swaybar, Thermal catback exhaust and a set of 19″ Work VS-XX 3-piece wheels with some 245-35-19 Bridgestone RE760s.

The Ohlins coilovers allow the car to be lowered while retaining stock like comfort levels, the handling of the car is much improved over stock. Our customers have frequently told us that the setup is “perfect”.

The Thermal exhaust fits the B7 S4 perfectly and the sound is excellent, a nice deep rumble that brings a smile to the face every time the car is started.

The 19″ Work VS-XX 3-piece wheels feature a staggered lip which allows for plenty of brake clearance up front with an aggressive looking deep dish in the rear. Work wheels are made in Japan and are one of the highest quality wheels available in the world. The 245-35-19 Bridgestone RE-760s should ensure plenty of traction.
