This is no Halloween costume!

Jon and I went up to JMI to pick up his S4 now that the majority of the exterior work is complete. Jon’s 2004 Audi S4 has been completely transformed and now takes on the shape of the B7 Audi RS4. This transformation took on the look of the bull-dog-stanced, newer generation Audi RS4 by replacing both front and rear fenders, front and rear bumpers, all-4 doors, hood, trunk, headlights, and tail lights – all of which can ordered right over your local Audi parts counter. Much credit goes to JMI for an incredible job making everything fit right!

This close-up picture of the front bumper shows careful, clean integration of S6 LED driving lights on the B7 Audi RS4 front bumper.

H&R wheel adapters allow Jon to fit the Porsche-fitment Work VS-XXs he picked up at a steal.

Front bumper installed and fits nicely!

Jon also has a set of 18×10 Volk Racing Wheels he intends to run both front and back, and having the car on the lift made test-fitting that much easier. Clearance is going to be super tight back behind the wheel up front but we’re happy to see it’s going to work!

Despite it’s “almost finished” appearance, there’s still plenty to do to complete what Jon has in store for this incredible project. Alcon big brakes are next and some tires are enroute for the Volks. There’s even a new surprise planned for under the hood… We’ll of course keep you posted.

B6 S4 widebody project several steps closer to complete!

Written by Dion on July 23, 2009 – 12:50 pm -

The last time Jon gave us an update on his RS4 wide body conversion project, JMI had positioned OEM B7 RS4 body panels to Jon’s B6 in preparation for welding, sanding, priming, and paint. Today we are updated with many pictures showing the exterior transformation of such a massive project.

A roll cage also ended up finding its way in there, another fine job done by the boys at JMI.

Then while browsing the online forums, Jon came across a set of 20″ Work Brombacher Wheels for a price that was unbelievable and impossible to pass up – even if he wasn’t planning to run the wheels on the car in the first place! Then of course a test-fit would determine how well they’d fit with the new, wider fenders.

As if Work wheels and a wide body conversion weren’t enough for this project, Jon picked up a set of Alcon Mono6 Big Brakes in the 370mm version in hopes that it would fill the void left behind the 20″ wheels… Even the largest rotor in the Stasis/Alcon line-up wasn’t enough!

Carbon fiber found it’s way around Jon’s stock B-pillars. Jon also decided to make his own carbon fiber splitter for the front bumper. For his first attempt at doing anything with fiberglass or carbon fiber, these turned out pretty damned good!

We hope to get more updates later this week. Jon unfortunately missed the deadline to have the car ready by WaterWerks 2009 but one more PacNW Audi event is on the near horizon and we hope to see the project complete by then.
