Written by Dion on March 24, 2011 – 8:55 am -

The Sport Spring kits are H&R’s top seller! With affordability and resulting good looks, they drive a hard bargain. Mike chose H&R’s Sport Spring kit for his Candy White VW (Mk6) GTI and had 18″ O.Z. Ultraleggera wheels sent to us from Tire Rack to complete the install. End result is near perfection!

Despite weather conditions, stance is priority one!

Written by Dion on November 24, 2010 – 3:49 pm -

When Crosby is driving around in the elements, braving snowy and icy conditions, it’s important for him to look good doing it! (We all know he’s not alone.) Since coil-overs aren’t quite yet in the cards during these crazy winter conditions for his recently acquired Audi (B7) S4, Crosby felt it was necessary to properly “stance” his ride in the meantime. As always, H&R’s Trak+ Wheel Spacers are our solution in helping our fellow Euro-car enthusiasts achieve the look they’re after.

Measuring 12mm up front, and 20mm out back, H&R spacers pushed the factory 18″ wheels out to match the edge of the fender, giving the car a much more aggressive look, and a wider track for better handling.

Big Improvements on a Brand New Audi S5

Written by Dion on October 20, 2010 – 11:48 am -

The car is still so new it’s got the temp tags in place, but that’s not really anything new here at Achtuning. Alex brought us his S5 as he’s got a specific direction in mind for his brand new Audi.

STaSIS/Ohlins SL Coil-Overs, StopTech Street Performance Brake Pads, StopTech Stainless-Steel Braided Brake Lines, and H&R DRA Spacers are just the tip of the iceberg as plenty more goodies are already planned for the very near future. This first step is just enough to get the car looking and rolling proper!

Time to go H&R!

Written by Dion on October 1, 2010 – 3:01 pm -

It’s been just a touch over one month and riding on the KONI SS coil-overs has been great! However, an opportunity has presented itself and it’s time to swap out to some H&R Ultra-Low coil-overs. We really want to get a good idea of the difference in handling compared to the softer KONI kit as well as get a good idea of the range of lowering the ultra-lows will provide.

It’s also time to give up the Hartmann HROC-233 Wheels and try something else on. Stay tuned for updates!

H&R Sport Springs a popular choice for VW’s Tiguan

Written by Dion on October 1, 2010 – 12:24 pm -

One of Tim’s first tasks for his newly purchased VW Tiguan was suspension, and H&R Sport Springs have been a very popular choice for many. With a mild inch-and-a-half drop, the end result is just perfect!

Less is more!

Written by Dion on June 29, 2010 – 12:33 pm -

To commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Porsche Club of America in 2006, Porsche built 50 911 Carrera S “Club Coupes” that would be available for sale only to club members. 1 example sits in the Porsche museum in Stuttgart and of the 49 examples spread throughout North America, two are owned by local WA residents – not surprised! All 50 examples received the same gorgeous and unique color of Azurro California Blue Metallic, a 3.8L X51 engine pushing 381 hp, a sport-tuned exhaust system, and a carbon fiber air intake system to name a few key elements that separate these cars from your standard Carrera S. The only thing it lacked was a set of H&R spacers!!

Taking into consideration the amount of suspension travel the car will still have at its current ride height, and using a simple technique to measure wheel spacing thanks to H&R, it was determined that of the sizes available from H&R, the 7mm spacers out back would even out the front-to-rear stance difference the car came with from the factory. Less is indeed more, as the very subtle wider track on this Porsche has it sitting proper!

H&R to the rescue!

Written by Dion on June 16, 2010 – 1:45 pm -

Thanks to H&R and the recent launch of their www.trakplus.com website, we now have a very resourceful and straight-forward tool to assist us in determining which spacer application to run on your car.  While we’d like to think we know everything there is to know about wheel-spacing, the fact is, “going wide” is not an exact science.  Also, “stance” is purely subjective.  One person’s view of “properly stanced” may likely differ from the next.  And unless you are local and can stop by, several variations such as vehicle ride height and/or tire size makes it difficult for us to tell you with absolute certainty whether or not “x”-size spacer is appropriate for your car.  We can give you an idea, but ultimately it is up to you to decide where within your fenders you want those wheels to sit…

TrakPlus.com will tell you what tools you’ll need to measure your current wheel gap, how to use those tools to obtain an accurate measurement, and even lets you know which of the many spacer applications H&R offers will specifically work for your vehicle given those dimensions.  It will also list out other options available for your car.  While we have included a link to this very useful tool on each spacer page of our online catalog, we trust you will find a reason to bookmark this for use in the future!  As always, continue to contact us for your wheel-spacing needs!
