It’s the little things that can make a big difference…

Written by Dion on September 2, 2009 – 8:09 am -

Brian has no interest in lowering his S-Line B8 A4 avant, and at its current ride height I don’t blame him. Used as a daily driver to haul around family or business associates, and already sitting on the S-Line’s 19×8.5″ wheels styled after the new RS6 wheel and Audi’s “sport suspension”, all he really needed was a bit of help from H&R with some 5mm spacers out back to make just the slightest bit of difference in over-all stance and appearance.

The H&R’s 5mm spacer is not hubcentric, meaning it doesn’t come with a lip for the wheel to evenly balance on, but then the hub’s lip is slightly thicker than the spacer so there is some room to center the wheel evenly on the Audi’s wheel hub lip.

To pep the car up a bit, Brian had us load APR’s ECU Upgrade, and just in time to take advantage of APR’s sale pricing where various octane-level programming options are installed for the price of a single-program burn! APR software is the best power per dollar modification for the new 2.0 TFSI Valve Lift and gives it just the extra edge these cars lack from the factory without pushing the limits.

All-in-all, not much more has to be done to improve on this S-Line A4. Interior fit and finish is superb as always with the combination of brushed aluminum and alcantara suede.

What more could you ask for? Surely we can come up with something…

Widen that stance!

Written by Dion on August 27, 2009 – 4:11 pm -

We constantly preach stance, and Jeremy knew his 3.2L A5 suffered from a lack of… He was told to come to Achtuning to pick up some H&R spacers and based on 20mm and 25mm DRA spacers placed on previous A5s, Jeremy figured he’d do the same.

In this particular case however, a 20mm spacer up front was too much as the Goodyear tires mounted on the factory wheels were “meatier” and offered far less clearance behind the fender. Keeping with a 25mm DRA spacer in the back, 15mm spacers were selected up front this time to push the wheels out and provide that aggressive stance Jeremy was after without having tire to fender clearance issues. End result…

Go Wide

Written by Dion on May 29, 2009 – 3:01 pm -

Go wide with H&R spacers… Nathan did! He brought back his B7 Audi A4 to push out the Titanium Package wheels out to improve the stance with his new suspension upgrade, courtesy of Stasis Streetsport coil-overs.

10mm and 15mm H&R DR-style spacers were commissioned front and rear respectively and the end result is just about as aggressive as it’ll get with the current stance… Me likes!!

Mesh 305′s on a B7 A4 this time…

Written by Dion on May 7, 2009 – 8:24 am -

… whatever they end up on, they look fantastic!!

It was a sad day when we learned Jake had found his car left in his parking garage without wheels on it. He was once rockin’ the HS5-209 Wheels on his B7 A4 – in fact he was the first local A4 to run the new look. Rather than going with the same look this time around, he took the situation and used it to his favor and picked up a different set of Hartmann Wheels.

Again a first for our local scene, Jake is now running the Mesh 305s with H&R spacers to correct the offset and final stance and we have to say while we knew it would be a good look, the end result is just stunning!

H&R 10mm spacers were used to push the 19×8.5 et48 wheels to a final offset of 38mm where most of the Hartmann 19″ wheels sit on B7 A4s. Jake also made sure to pick up a set of RAD wheel locks in a longer length to clear the spacers, and to further deter thieves from picking on his wheels again.

A result of H&R Sale Pricing

Written by Dion on March 19, 2009 – 2:34 pm -

Graham from Barrier Audi took advantage of H&R sale pricing last week and picked up a set of H&R coil-overs for the latest addition to his fleet of cars, this B5.5 VW Passat 1.8T 4-motion manual! After lowering the car on a used set of Euromesh Wheels he found and painting them gold, he brought the car by for us to add some H&R 5mm spacers out back to even out the stance.

It’s all about stance with this winterized Audi S5

Written by Dion on January 15, 2009 – 11:54 am -

When Ian stopped by last October with his Audi S5, it allowed us to get our first up-close-and-personal look at Audi’s latest V8 coupe.

Ian had us set aside a set of our RS4-styled Hartmann 252s in 18×8 and a 32mm offset so we could eventually wrap some Dunlop M3s around his new winter wheels. Concerned with stance, Ian had H&R DR spacers and a STaSIS Ohlins SL Sport Suspension Kit ordered so we could tackle all tasks at once. Unfortunately, his euro-spec headlight delivery was delayed until just recently and we are now finally getting around to throwing on Ian’s parts for him. After all things were said and done…

The stance couldn’t look any better for a winter set-up. Can’t wait for this thing to come back for the S5-styled 20″ Hartmann 209 Wheels when the weather shapes up!

Hartmann 252B Wheels: $260 ea.

H&R Spacers for Big Brake Clearance

Written by Dion on November 28, 2008 – 3:50 pm -

Chris had to come by and pick up some H&R 8mm spacers so his winter wheels would clear the StopTech BBK he purchased earlier in the year…

Talk about a tight fit!!

Avant in the tropics

Written by Dion on November 25, 2008 – 1:20 pm -

Then there’s Andrew in Hawaii…

He had contacted me about a month ago talking about the different things he wanted to do to his B7 Audi S-Line A4 Avant. He had settled on some Hartmann HRS4 – 252 HB wheels in a 19×8.5″ size and 38mm offset. We sent the wheels wrapped with Dunlop Sport Maxx tires in a 235/35-19 properly mounted and balanced so Andrew would be able to bolt the new wheels to his car immediately after opening the packaging. He was kind enough to send us the pictures he took with the new wheels.

To improve the stance and handling, Andrew called us back to order up a set of STaSIS Streetsport Coil-overs , a pair of H&R 8mm spacers , and an OEM RS4 rear sway bar we picked up from Barrier Audi. He also added the Carbonio Cold Air Intake to the order and we heard the items safely reached the tropics. We look forward to more updates and progress pictures from Andrew as this Avant progresses into one mean grocery getter!

RS4 style Hartmann 252Bs on an Audi A3

Written by Skyler on February 14, 2008 – 5:48 pm -

Nash really wanted to do a STaSIS BBK on his Audi A3 2.0T, unfortunately finding a wheel that clears a big brake kit in the high offset to fit the A3 was going to necessitate using custom 3 piece Work wheels which were a bit out of the budget at the moment.

In the end he decided to leave the brakes alone and go with 18″ B7 RS4-styled Hartmann 252 wheels with some Bridgestone Potenza S-02 tires. The ET 47 wheels were chosen to avoid rubbing and a 5mm H&R spacer was used in the rear to even the look out with the fronts.

Check these wheels out in our store: Audi A3 Wheels – B7 HRS4 – 252
