Bob was back in town, and with the changing weather it was time to outfit his Audi B5 RS4-conversion with a set of winter wheels and tires. Taking advantage of an easy-to-clean style, as well as one that will still show-off those massive Alcon brakes, it was decided Hartmann’s brand-new HTT-256-GS wheel would be the winter gear of choice.

The Hartmann HTT-256-GS Wheel is 19×8.5″, with a wheel offset of 38mm. The widebody required the use of H&R 15mm spacers front to back to get the wheels positioned correctly beneath the car.

Kristian Decided that 19″ Hartmann HR8 MS wheels were the wheels he really wanted to complete the look on his A3. After saving his pennies he picked a set up and paired them with a set of 235-35-19 Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta tires.

After getting the HR8 MS wheels installed on his H&R coilover equipped A3 Kristian suspected that the ride quality may be reduced but found just the opposite “To my surprise the ride quality actually is BETTER than the Pirelli p6s even though I stepped up 2″ in wheel size. The ride is smoother, quieter, and has a LOT more grip.”

Hartmann DTMs on a B5 S4 are a great combination, the DTM wheel has an RS4 inspired design but with the exposed lugs gives the wheel an elegant yet sporty look. Mounted on a B5 they give the car that aggressive look without straying from OEM styling.

While these pictures are new, the DTMs on his Casa B5 are the older 18×8.0″ ET35 version. The new Hartmann DTMs are now wider at 8.5 inches with an offset of ET38.

The Hartmann Wheel brand has been a solid product since it’s inception in 1978 and one we intend to keep alive for many years to come. In fact new plans are in the works for expanding the Hartmann product line in the near future but we’ll discuss more of that at another time.

As new wheel designs keep rolling in, new ideas are also floating around the office. We’re bringing back an old crest-style design and giving it some fresh new updates to accompany the Hartmann logo. The recent acquisition of a couple new toys, a plotter and a heat press, are going to help us do just that!

If the amount of awesome pictures we are receiving from our Canadian customers is any indication the snow must be melting up north. Mathieu’s super clean white Rabbit must be the reason for the higher temperatures as it is hot, hot, hot! Lowered on H&R sport springs with a factory Votex body kit and color matched rub strips does wonders for VW’s entry level car, the 19″ Hartmann Mesh 305s fill out the fenders perfectly while giving a clean OEM+ look.

Nick took advantage of APR’s “Spring Into Power” Sale and picked up the RSC turbo-back exhaust for his Mk5 GTI.

It also gave us a chance to get better profile pictures of his car since his last visit when we had mounted a set of the Hartmann HRS4-252B Wheels in 19″, a great addition to our Achtuning gallery!

We hear the Zender kit is no longer available so it will be interesting to see what front lip and skirt Nick will come up with to complete the look of his GTI. When he does, we’ll let you know!

… From picking up a new set of Hartmann Wheels!

I called Ryan, our first VW Mk5 2.0T TSI customer as it was time to update his APR-tuned ECU with a stock file that was recently released by APR. Since the ECU upgrade and H&R suspension install that was completed this last Fall, Ryan has been itching to do something new to the GTI and he sure wasn’t going to let harsh winter conditions stop him! He had been eying the Hartmann Evolution R5 Wheels for quite some time, and after a few seconds of holding the wheels up to his car yesterday, he made an appointment for install this morning.

Brand new TPM Sensors and all-season Falken 912s in a 225/40-18 were mounted and balanced, then thrown on the car within an hour.  The transformation was more than enough to put a smile on Ryan’s face and satisfy the “mod-bug” he caught.  We both knew the bronze finish on the Evolution R5s would set the car off just right.

In the coming months, we expect Ryan back as he has expressed interest in APR’s RSC turbo-back exhaust system. We also hear a StopTech BBK might also be planned later to fill the blank space now left behind the open-face design of the Evolution R5s. We’ll of course keep you posted with the results.
