Karl dropped by with a set of Bilstein PSS9 coilovers he purchased and had us install them yesterday.  We were excited to see the final results as he comes equipped with a set of one of our newest Hartmann Wheels, the Hartmann HRS6-204 wheels in a matte-anthracite/machined finish.  The wheels are 20 inches in diameter and 9 inches wide with a 40mm offset offering a more aggressive fitment then what comes from the factory, and leaves plenty of room to play with tire sizes, ride height, and even spacers should one decide they want that real aggressive look!

Bilstein PSS9 coilovers offer 9-way compression rebound adjustment almost at a flip of the switch.  Dials located at the bottom of each shock absorber allows you to decide just how soft or stiff you want your vehicle to handle.  Karl was looking for OEM-like comfort but wanted more performance out of his suspension and the PSS9s are dialed in (at position #6) to give him just what he was looking for.  The A4 really does ride comfortably around the street but when put through its paces in the corners the PSS9s keep all 4 corners planted offering plenty of stability and instilling driver confidence.

The Achtuning “signature” ride height leaves roughly a two-finger gap between the top of the tire and the bottom of the fender and the suspension is expected to settle slightly within a week’s worth of driving. Pictured below are images of the suspension immediately after install and we are very happy to see the results. The matte-anthracite/machined finish is a great compliment to Karl’s black A4 and we can’t wait to see what he does next.

Did another test-fit of the Hartmann HTT-256-GS Wheel on Audi’s latest A4 body style. Could a basic design like this look any better?

Admittedly the car needs to be lowered but let’s get past that for a second since coilovers are a simple upgrade away. The way the spokes dive in towards the center of the wheel, the slight twist in each spoke, and the simple lines… all are ingredients that go well with the elegant body lines of the Audi A4.
