Update on APR’s Mk6 Race GTI build

Arin’s (APR) latest update on their VW Mk6 GTI, which we originally reported was being torn down from it’s 385 hp Stage 3 demo status in preparation for the upcoming race season, gets further and further away from the typical street look – all in preparation for the 2010 race season!

14 lbs of wire later…..

The harness is finished!

Time to remove another 30+ pounds!
Done!

Added in some weight.

The factory uprights are simply not up to the task of racing. We have permission from Grand-Am to run an upgraded part shown on the right:

Motorsport will be working on the suspension pretty soon so I snapped a quick picture of the camber plate location.

The Hatch is starting to look pretty empty.

The Driver Side Door is pretty light now too!

And we are almost ready to hull it off to be painted so we ripped out the windows.
