APR’s VW Mk6 GTI turbo-back exhaust system released!

APR has announced the release of their turbo-back exhaust system for the Mk6 GTI!!  We will be stocking these very soon…

APR, LLC. announces another successful licensing of a new exhaust technology, RSC™, Reflective Sound Cancellation, to further enhance APR’s line of performance exhaust systems for Volkswagen and Audi vehicles.

Reflective Sound Cancellation allows for maximum exhaust gas flow while completely eliminating in cabin sound resonance (drone). RSC™ incorporates innovative technologies developed in conjunction with NASA. With limited use of packing materials and no baffles, RSC™ allows for a completely straight and free flowing exhaust path through the RSC™ mufflers. Reflective Cancellation bounces the undesirable sound waves into each other to attenuate the wave and completely eliminate the low frequency tones that create drone. Each RSC™ muffler is tuned to eliminate specific, undesirable sound frequencies allowing only the engine’s desirable exhaust notes to be heard and improving performance.

The first APR application to feature RSC™ technology were the New MK5 GTi 2.0T FSI RSC™ Performance Exhaust Systems. Benefits of the new technology allowed APR’s RSC™ Exhaust Systems to meet the European Union and other countries’ noise requirements of 90db or less in new car exhaust sound and even increase performance over traditional performance exhaust systems.

The Golf Ball Test is the best way to determine if the exhaust system you’ve chosen for your turbocharged car is up to the task of handling the power output from your engine. Often times, you’ll find that you can’t even roll a marble through a traditional muffler system which makes one wonder just how restrictive that free flowing exhaust must really be. Traditional mufflers use baffles and packing material a lot like steel wool to quiet the drone and other unpleasing sounds that occur when developing an exhaust system to make power. Obviously, the more baffles and packing material you add to reduce the unpleasing sound, the more restrictive the system becomes and therefore the opportunity for maximum power output is greatly reduced. APR’s RSC™ mufflers don’t use traditional muffler baffles and packing material, RSC™ incorporates a straight-through design that gives you all of the power of a straight pipe exhaust system plus the comfort in the cabin that comes with absolutely ZERO drone.

    how are you doing?
    i just bought a 2010 gti, i would like to know what difference on the hp and performance will the rsc exhaust system do to my car, other than make it sound thicker and better…
    also what is the difference between turbo back and cat back; which one will perform better in my car..

    Thank you for your inquiry and congrats on your new purchase!

    APR has not yet posted any dyno claims showing the actual horsepower/torque increases with their 2010-specific exhaust system. Most turbo-back exhausts when combined with the APR ECU upgrade will yield an additional, estimated 10-15 hp. The cat-back alone will change tone more than it will provide any power increases.
