A welcomed surprise from APR
Written by Dion on February 27, 2010 – 4:10 pm -Exciting news from APR!! We will go into them further when we return from the annual APR Distributor Conference but we wanted to get the news out there as quickly as possible.
First off, we are VERY excited to have been present at APR’s debut of the B7 Audi RS4 SUPERCHARGER kit for the FSI 4.2L V8! And I’m not just talking about an announcement… It’s done! APR drove the supercharged RS4 into their showroom this morning as we all sat in amazement. We hope to be able to begin selling and installing these kits as early as this May. This kit will soon be available for the Audi S5, R8, and Q7. There’s even talk about Audi RS5 compatibility - let’s hope we get them here in North America!
Heffner Performance has partnered with APR to offer V8 Audi R8 customers a twin-turbocharger kit! Our sources tell us the kit will produce 500 whp on pump gas and 6 psi! V10 owners can expect a similar kit in the near future.
More software products are expecting to debut within this 2010 season including DSG transmission upgrades and TDI software development.

New online store is live!!

We hope your online shopping experience will be much improved compared to your last visit to achtuning.com!
We went for a ‘cleaner’ look while offering as much information as possible. This is a very difficult task so bear with us while we continue to make some small tweaks here and there. You will also notice some minor navigation changes, meaning the method in which you will get to a certain product will slightly differ, and for the better! The biggest impact the new online catalog will have is geared towards our Canadian customers who now have the ability to complete online check-out!

Due to our large volume of Hartmann Wheel sales, we have been successful in negotiating lower pricing with our wheel manufacturer and I am very pleased to report we will be passing those savings to you, our very valued customer! Over the next few days, we will be making changes to Hartmann Wheel pricing online, and you’ll notice some price reductions as large as 20%! Audi now added to APR’s Motorsport line-up

For the 2010 season, APR Motorsport will run a second squad of two Audi S4 sedans in the GS Class. Audi’s new S4 is being hailed as an amazingly competitive car in comparison to its typical showroom rivals. Independent tests against its competitors in class are overwhelmingly in favor of Audi’s newest generation. The team has produced a slew of wins and a long list of accomplishments in only their first two years of competition including winning the most races of any KONI Challenge team in 2009.
APR Motorsport simultaneously announced their intentions to upgrade and continue their Volkswagen GTI efforts with the newest generation Mk 6 chassis introduced as the 2010 model. APR Motorsport seems to have their hands full, but as those who attended the announcement at this Saturday’s Annual Customer Appreciation BBQ held at APR headquarters near Auburn, AL can attest, APR has plenty of talent, experience, equipment and engineering prowess to gallantly field both efforts. APR Motorsport Principle and APR, LLC President Stephen Hooks commented, “The accomplishments of the race engineers and the Software, Electrical and Mechanical engineering teams at APR have at times been simply amazing in their success and opportunity for continual break through from cooperation.”
Audi’s new S4 comprises a completely new power plant with their 3-liter supercharged, direct injected narrow angle V6 producing 331hp in production form. The new S4 also benefits from Audi’s latest version of quattro all-wheel drive and MLB architecture that moves the engine behind the front axle. APR Motorsport Director Jeff Mishtawy says, “The new S4 is exactly the platform our engineering teams have been very eager to get their hands on for a GS
Representatives from Grand Am were on site at the announcement at APR’s Alabama facility which signifies support of the new entrants. APR Motorsport seems to be leading the effort to bring some newer trends in sports car racing development to Grand Am Road Racing through the use of new cars that are of typically smaller engine displacement and use forced induction. The 2010 season of the KONI Sports Car Challenge may see some other new force inducted, all wheel drive entrants as well.

Our announcement this last August about offering NM Engineering’s quality performance products to PacNW MINI owners did not go unnoticed. Neal brought us his R55 MINI Clubman after picking up NME’s cat-back exhaust and high-flow induction kit so we could snap some pics.
The aerospace quality T-304 stainless-steel exhaust is tough to go unnoticed with its 4″ polished tips, laser-etched with NM’s logo. And even if you don’t notice them, the grumble left behind the new exhaust note makes this Clubman tough to miss! Combine that with the throatier sound left behind NME’s high-flow induction kit and you’ll almost forget the car is even a MINI.
