ACHTUNING – Audi and VW Tuning

Jae sends us his latest from Seoul, Korea as he prepares our Achtuning Korea store for the upcoming SAS (Seoul Auto Salon).

“Thanks to help from Achtuning HQ at Redmond, I managed to finish preparing for
SAS (Seoul Auto Salon) 2009.
It’s the largest aftermarket car show in Korea and it’s first for Achtuning Korea to participate
from this year. Here are some stories of past 2 weeks:

My goal was gathering 5 generations of GTI’s in Korea. Mk3 was the easiest,
as my brother owned one in Korea (shipped from Vancouver a couple of years ago).
He was kind enough to let me use his car for the show as well as my daily in Korea.

But that does not mean his car was 100% trouble-free. Thanks to connection to the
right people back home, getting the correct parts on…

Not sure that I’ve seen a white Mk1 TT come through Achtuning since I’ve personally been here. Being partial to white myself, it was a nice little surprise to see one pull up, and the 225hp version no less!

Kurt was referred to us by Graham at Barrier Audi who assured him the upgrade was an absolute necessity for the car. Kurt has owned the car for quite a few years now and the addition of APR’s ECU Upgrade will make the car feel all new to him again. We hope to see him return for some other Achtuning-goodies.

While Justin with Benchmark Motoring continues to send us Porsche owners our way for power upgrades, he brought his own recently purchased Cayman for a nice little jump in power.

Mike wanted to try out the APR ECU Upgrade for his 2.0T VW Tiguan prior to the Leavenworth Cruise. He tows a trailer frequently and while he reports the factory torque specs are typically enough to haul around without much difficulty, he wanted to see how much more different the APR software would handle things.

APR’s claim of 254 hp and 297 lbs per ft of torque was quickly felt when Mike left our facility as he reported he was able to spin all 4s with traction control still engaged! We’re waiting for him to report back with how the Tiguan handled itself on its way and back from Leavenworth.
